Tignale, located on the slopes of the hills on which luxuriant olive trees extend and nicknamed 'Il Balcone del Garda,' is a small village immersed in the Alto Garda Bresciano Park that offers great emotions to its visitors thanks to the splendid view that sweeps across the lake. Consisting of six hamlets (Gardola, Piovere, Prabione, Aer, Olzano and Oldesio, connected to each other by a panoramic road), it enjoys a mild climate that offers fascinating landscapes and lush, protective vegetation.
Centuries-old lemon groves, the ancient oil mill, and the cultivation of the olive tree tell the ancient history of these places and their agricultural past.
The protagonists are also the unique flavors of these lands: good wine, extra virgin olive oil, the famous truffle, the spit and the typical dessert called 'Spongadì.'
For lovers of walking, mountain biking and e-biking, there are many paths with splendid views that will lead you to the highest peaks. There, you can enjoy the fresh air in the shade of majestic beech and pine forests or go to the lake where, on hot days summer, you can discover our beaches and the centuries-old Pra 'de la Fam lemon house. You will walk along paths and mule tracks dominated by majestic olive groves, which, slowly giving way to rocky walls, will help you discover the typical vegetation of the Mediterranean scrub with holm oaks, laurels and rosemary.
The single tourist office organizes weekly guided walks (from Easter to October). For informationand reservations visit the website: www.tignale.org
The Limonaia Prà de la Fam ecomuseum, built in the second half of the 1700s, is a vast greenhouse located close to the sweet waters of Lake Garda, surrounded by centuries-old cypress trees that frame the surrounding rocky walls. Since 1985, thanks to the restoration work carried out by the Comunità Montana Parco Alto Garda Bresciano, the lemon house is a real jewel of our territory, with about a hundred productive plants including lemons, oranges, cedars, mandarins and bergamots. In May, the flowering of the plants intoxicates the whole area with its scent: it is difficult to resist its charm.
When your hand squeezes the hemisphere of cut lemon on your plate, you scatter a universe of gold, a yellow chalice of miracles.
(Pablo Neruda)
In a splendid position overlooking the lake, the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Montecastello is the iconic monument of Tignale: it stands on the remains of an ancient temple then transformed into a castle and houses the “Casa Santa” a small temple that dates back to 80o AD.
The interior has frescoes from the school of Giotto. Its privileged position offers the visitor unique and spectacular views: the gaze is lost from the peaks of Monte Baldo to the Sirmione peninsula.
The 'Flying Frogs' Adventure Park located near the village of Prabione is an adrenaline-pumping amusement park suitable for families with children. Positioned in a natural oasis, the area offers the possibility to play challenging the height and oneself.
From the 'angel flight' of the Big Zip to the passages for the little ones, the Park is equipped with the most modern safety systems. Access to the oasis is free, with its quiet and sheltered picnic area.
